If you stayed in the city you grew up in, you probably know the feeling. That "Oh you're so and so's (fill in the blank here)." I've always heard "Oh you're Frank's daughter!" or "You must be Stevie's niece!" Kind of comes with the territory of being a home town gal! This was a first for me. After talking with Emily (who works in baseball herself as part of the marketing team for the Rays) and hitting it off, as we were contracting I mentioned that since her fiance, Steffan was a MLB scout he may know my baby brother who had played high school ball here and now was up pitching at UF. The exact response was "That's my boy Tommy Mace!" and from then on I was Tommy's sister, the wedding planner - ha ha!
Planning with Emily was a dream and I loved all of the subtle nods to their mutual love of the game from having their guests sign home plate in lieu of a guest book to delicious bundt cakes for dessert.
While weather earlier in the day forced us to have a modified plan B with indoor dinner - we still lucked out and were able to make the ceremony happen in the beautiful gardens and enjoy drinks and dancing under the stars! It was such a perfect evening and incredibly fun to see how loved this couple is and how excited their friends and family were to be with them to celebrate this new chapter!
